The piston option, which can be purchased in addition to the standard software package, enables the following measurement and evaluation tasks

• Determining the pin-bore axis
• Determining the position of the main axis of oval, both in absolute terms and with reference to the pin-bore axis
• Determining ovality and, if necessary, dual ovality
• Tolerancing oval form (circular evaluation of tolerance bands)
• Tolerancing the skirt profile (linear evaluation of tolerance bands)

Scope of Delivery:

The piston option can be purchased in addition to the standard software package. Set-up of the new software on existing FORM PC stations is simply made by license release.

Application:

Many users know the FORMPC as a reliable measuring, controlling, and evaluating system for MAHR Formtesters. It is most frequently used for the MMQ-type Formtesters. Now, a new software option is available for the FORM-PC that is designed for checking engine pistons.

Due to an interesting feature, which allows for the free definition of tolerance bands, the 'piston software' option is also suitable for measuring other workpieces with a parabolic shape.
